Dreams Do Come True: One Woman’s Eight-Year Journey to Becoming a Mother

The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?

I have never written a book before now, so the whole process from the first day I started writing right through to having the final copy sent to the printers has been a challenge for me. I had to learn how to make an action plan and be accountable on making it happen, plus I tend to be an overthinker so at times I found it hard to make decisions on the design of the book, however can now say I am thrilled with the final outcome.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

Definitely being able to work from home. I am able to take my children to school each morning and pick them up every afternoon. My twins started school last year and at the beginning of the year I was working an office job which meant my children were having to go to after school care every day which also meant they were not able to do any extra-curricular activities after school. I quit my job to focus on writing my book and to be there for my kids and take them to activities such as swimming lessons outside of school. The cons are not having a guaranteed income. I only get out of my business what I put in.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

For now, I hope to see my book out there helping anyone going through infertility struggles, plus through my business I am also offering consultation sessions.

When it comes to what is next, I aim to write a follow up book to be published next year.
