Elevate Your Life Coaching – Why Self-Care Is Not Selfish

After 23 years as a Business Consultant and Executive, and now a self-employed business owner and mum, I know firsthand about stress, energy, the impact of neglecting self-care and health/wellbeing in the service of children and career, as well as the demanding and delicate work/life balancing act. After years of struggling with fertility and unsuccessful IVF pregnancies and miscarriages (with no medically diagnosed issues or known causes despite extensive testing), I decided to start focusing on reducing my stress and prioritising taking better care of myself. I knew I was under a lot of stress, but I did not fully realise the impact it was having on my body, mind and health until I started making changes to my lifestyle.

Thankfully, I am now blessed to have a beautiful boy, and like many parents, am learning to adjust to the new demands and stresses of being a parent. This has led me to developing coaching services specifically to help parents and/or career professionals to reduce stress, increase energy, resilience and balance in their lives. For example, the “Stronger Mum-Me” Programme is designed specifically to support and coach mums in improving their self-care, energy, presence, resilience, health and happiness. While there is structure to this programme, it is tailored to support individual needs / goals, and can also be tailored to support dads or other parenting roles. And the “Master Your Stress” Programme is designed to help people reduce and better manage stress in their everyday lives. I offer these, as well as other coaching services, all of which are guided by our company’s core values and paradigms.

The Elevate Your Life Coaching Paradigms:

  1. Self-care is not selfish (put on your own oxygen mask first!).
  1. Choose to take time to focus on your health & wellbeing, or your body, health & wellbeing will eventually force you to.
  1. You cannot change other people, only yourself.
  1. Changing things around you starts with changing things within you.
  1. If you want things to be different, you need to do different things…If you change nothing, then nothing changes.
  1. No one is going to put you as #1 at the top of their list (at least not always), so you need to.
  1. You are responsible for your own wellbeing (happiness/stress/energy/health), and you alone have the greatest power to influence it.
  1. If there is only one thing to improve your health, lowering your stressors and stress response has an immense impact on your physiology (body & mind) and can impact nearly every area of your life.
  1. There is always a way to create the experience you want.
  1. Define your purpose and architect it, or someone else will determine it for you.

Our Core Values:

  • Respect and holding people in high regard and ability
  • Integrity
  • Compassion and curiosity (instead of judgement)
  • Confidentiality
  • Accountability – Change starts with you!
