The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Something I didn’t expect was the vulnerability you feel when you release something you have created and love. Then you release the pigeons and think, “Gosh, I hope they love it too”. But I have learnt through this process the power of vulnerability, uniqueness and putting your creativity out there.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros of running your own business would be the flexibility and satisfaction you get because it’s your baby! The cons would be social media at times! I truly believe it can be done beautifully and there is a place for it, but it can be consuming and dictating at times.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I am wanting to bring more colour and mixed patterns into my collections. My Mum was a children’s dressmaker and had the ability to combine colours in the most magical way, so she is definitely my muse! Also, I would LOVE to get over to Vietnam this financial year to visit the seamstresses and meet them face to face. I chat to our manager Anh over there often, but it’s not the same and I want to meet her daughter!
