Free up precious time with a virtual assistant

The drive: What challenges have you overcome? 

Being a startup there are always challenges, but the greatest challenge I have faced I believe is my own time management. I have been able to assist a few stay-at-home parents to achieve family, work life balance but in return I have needed to ensure I wasn’t jeopardising my own.  

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business? 

Pros: 

• I am in control of the future of SAHVA, as well as my own future. I enjoy that I have complete control over how I operate the business and if I see changes that will better operations, I can make these changes without resistance
• I have been able to achieve my goal of providing for my family financially, whilst also being able to parent my two girls and spend a greater amount of time with them 
• It gives me complete flexibility. If I want to move halfway across the world – I can! If I want to take the morning off to spend with my girls – I can!  

Cons: 

• As hard as I try, it can sometimes be hard to switch off from work completely, as I am always thinking of ways that I can be better, faster and more productive in growing SAHVA 
• Working from home can be daunting, especially when the dishes are staring at me from across the room or handprints become visible when the light hits the glass the right way. 

Hopes and dreams: What next? 

Aside from my main priority, which is to grow SAHVA, I would love to have a few more clients that help our community. At the end of 2019 we started working with a wonderful organisation called Mothers Helpers; they help mothers with perinatal depression and anxiety. Needless to say, that it has been a delightful experience and exciting challenge. It would be awesome to get a few more clients like them onboard.
