The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Wow, where do I start?

My first marriage broke down when my son was 3 years old. I really struggled with my identity as a new mum. New marriage, new business, new baby, and the stresses of life were rife. We also lived in Melbourne at the time, and I had no support from family, so I felt very alone and isolated. I think this is why I worked so hard to help other mums, as I was lonely and battling with who I used to be vs who I was becoming. I had what most mums probably have experienced, which is called ‘adjustment disorder’. I embarked on a huge healing journey as a single mum, and I started to shed all of the parts of myself that I needed to heal. It was not an easy time, but in the same breath, it was the most enlightening time. I re-discovered who I was and really started to love the skin I was in. We, as humans, are constantly evolving, and I learnt that it is OK to let go of who you thought you were to embark on becoming your best version. And if that means going through the dark first and letting go of those people that no longer align with you, then that is A-OK!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros are that you get to follow your dreams and pivot where you need to. You get to work from anywhere (as my biz is 100% online) and you can choose your own hours. Passion fuels you so you constantly feel inspired to create opportunities.

In terms of cons, it is hard to switch off. Your overheads are insane! You have the capacity to earn great money, but to earn a decent wage, you are constantly investing revenue back into your business. It is hard to find that balance where you are not over-spending vs making a profit.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I have had to evolve my business over the years, and I always move with the times and follow my gut. I now have multiple streams of income and use different platforms where I can create revenue. I am not one to sit still for long, and I love that my business evolves with me. So the goal is to keep reaching out to women and to support them in business and in health, as my new business venture is all based around assisting women to create their own online franchise and create a second stream of income. Why not put my 8 years of experience in working as an entrepreneur online into helping women do the same!

I have just given birth to another beautiful baby boy, so I will be wrapped up in that newborn bubble for a while. I am 41 years old and have a 7-year-old, and my partner has a 9-year-old (both boys). We as a family have huge goals in the property space as my partner is a builder. So, there is a lot in the pipeline, and it is all very exciting, living by my values of family, fitness, faith and freedom.
