“He will have good vision,” predicts a very relieved Dr Pawan.
On the day of surgery, in his tiny maroon surgical gown, Krind looked so fragile. His mother carried him, light as a feather, to the operating theatre.
Under general anaesthesia, the skilled hands of a surgeon removed the tiny, clouded lens stealing his sight and replaced it with a clear new lens. A simple surgery but a transformation beyond measure.
As he slept, his parents watched over him, praying for their beloved son. Their beautiful boy. When he was born, they wove together the sounds from their two names – Kumari and Dal – and created a new sound: Krind. His name is their love story.
And then the next morning, off comes the eye shield – and in streams new light, life and hope. Krind blinks. He looks at his mother. He’s stunned. Her face! He simply gazes at his mum: the most beautiful sight he could ever ask for. This really is a beautiful miracle, through the generosity of people like you.
Krind’s future is now filled with hope. Soon, his other eye will be treated, and his journey to a full life will continue.
