The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I am dyslexic which has been a great challenge when promoting my products on social media in real time. Luckily my mum is an English teacher and siblings are also good at English, so they have been able to help proofread marketing materials to get the right message across.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The best part of running my business is meeting the customers, along with the flexibility to be able to be creative and adapt quickly to changes in consumer demand. The difficulties are scaling up and doing this in a manageable way so that I can stay in touch with my customer base while increasing sales for growth.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have recently exhibited at the Chocolate and Coffee festival at the Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland on 28th and 29th September, and next steps include increasing sales and moving my products into retail outlets in the Canterbury region and beyond.
