My Beautiful Self: Transitioning to a better you

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

I work with an ideal week, in the ideal week I put in everything that I need to achieve by the end of the week: washing, ironing, social media, cooking dinner, after school activities, family time, relaxing, exercise, appointments, date night, everything. That way I know I have everything covered during the week. I allocate time to each task and adjust as each week requires. It is a brilliant system. I believe the adage ‘He who controls your time controls your income’.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

All my challenges have come from within. We all have to manage the IT issues and the humps and bumps that come with learning new ways to do business. Especially with the changing environment we are currently dealing with. However, all my challenges are around my belief systems. The more successful I become, the more I peel away the onion peels of ‘who do I think I am?’ and ‘I’m not good enough?’ and everything that shows up under those limiting belief systems:

  • Procrastination
  • Bright shiny object syndrome
  • I don’t deserve success

I do my own inner work everyday to clear my limiting beliefs and to achieve the success in myself and in my business that I know I deserve. And I know that the more I clear myself and keep turning up as my best version of me, that means I am showing up to be there for those who need me, who are looking for me to show them how they can be free from their limiting beliefs and be their Beautiful Self.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

I have many pros: I get to manage my time; I manage my ideal week to work for me and my family; and plan ahead to ensure I have time off when I need to or want to.

I absolutely love what I do, to see the transformation of my clients when they go from playing small to shining so bright. That wakes me up every morning to be better and learn more everyday… I never get tired of the work I do ever.

Having to back myself has been so hard to do. I have had to dig so deep within myself, I have had to undo years of programming that said I was not good enough, that I do not deserve success and that I am just an idiot anyway. If I had stayed working for someone else, maybe I would never have done that work. It certainly feels like a con during the hard work, but at the end of the day running my own business has made me so uncomfortable, it has stretched me so far outside of my previous comfort zone and I am eternally grateful for that.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

My biggest dream is to share what I have learnt with as many women as I can. If it was possible to stand on a mountain top and yell the truth that you have the power within you to have everything you have ever wanted; you just need to heal the wounds from your past and you can be free! I would do that… I would be on that mountain every day. But that isn’t how it works, so I am building courses and programs. I have already written a chapter for the Change Makers IWD 2020 book in March this year and now I am about to commence writing my own book. I am also one of YMag’s Top 10 Women to watch in 2020 in the January edition. I love being interviewed on Podcasts and TV Shows and have spoken in Australia, New Zealand and America and look forward to being an International Speaker in years to come.
