The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I had 2 main challenges to beat:
- My lack of knowledge when building a website. I was overwhelmed by it and it took me a long time for me to understand the platforms etc. Plus great support from a web developer.
- I am useless when it comes to social media and marketing…I had to learn how to use creative tools and planning apps, plus try to create engaging content. This was my biggest hurdle and I am actually proud of what I am achieving. I am still learning every day.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Being your own boss is a huge pro for me. I love working for myself and having more flexibility with my time.
I have built some lovely relationships with influencers and am fortunate enough to have interviewed some for my journal. This is new to me and I am really enjoying this challenge.
I am ridiculously hard on myself and set high expectations for my business. I was told by a friend to “celebrate the small wins; this is a marathon not a sprint”.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
Well, that would be telling 😉
I am hoping to expand my collection with more travel essentials and accessories to help parents keep organised. It is a long road and financially it does take time and investment to get there.
