The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I’ve faced a lot of challenges, mostly the kind you can’t see. I’m neurodivergent: I have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and PoTS. My brain works differently, my body responds differently, and the world isn’t designed for that.
The hardest part wasn’t making products or learning how to run a business. It was giving myself permission to start. For so long, I felt like I needed to be more qualified, more polished, more prepared. Eventually, I realised I didn’t need to tick every box. I needed to trust what I already knew.
I know how to research. I know how to teach. I know how to heal.
Once I owned that, everything shifted. I stopped trying to fit into a system that never included me in the first place and I built EarthKind on my own terms.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The best part is the freedom, in both my schedule and in my purpose. I don’t follow sales targets or corporate agendas. I follow curiosity.
Every day brings something new. One day I’m formulating products, the next I’m deep-diving into neuroscience or creating educational content about skincare and the body. That variety excites me. I love learning. That’s how this all started. The fun is in formulation, but the passion is in teaching – teaching people the science of what ingredients actually do and why it matters.
The hardest part is living with a body and brain that don’t always cooperate. Neurodivergence and PoTS mean I have to work with my energy, not against it. Some days are slower, some are scattered. But I build around that.
The freedom to lead with passion, help others and keep learning will always outweigh the challenges.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I want EarthKind Apothecary to grow far beyond skincare.
My dream is to open a physical space – part refill shop, part educational café, part community apothecary. A sensory-rich space where people can learn about their bodies, ingredients, neurodiversity and healing, all over a cup of herbal tea.
I also want to run workshops that connect science with everyday self-care. I want families, teens, neurodivergent people and curious minds to walk in and leave empowered.
One of my biggest goals is to help people manage and heal eczema, especially through SerenGlow, the first product I created for my daughter’s skin. I want to get it into the hands of families who have tried everything else and still haven’t found relief.
Long-term, I’d love to create tools like an app that can scan product labels, understand ingredients, and suggest safer alternatives.
EarthKind Apothecary will always be about more than products. It’s about building a world where people feel informed, respected and in control of what they put on their bodies. Real, sustainable and rooted in care
