Social Distancing & Babywearing

Now, more than ever, keep your babies close.

Please don’t even second guess cuddling and carrying your little ones at this time as social distancing rules get stricter. The best place for them to thrive is still carried close to you in your arms, on the breast, or in a carrier/sling/wrap.

As the advice stands, there is no reason to separate the mum and baby dyad. The risks outweigh the benefits. So focus on good hand washing hygiene always; in regards to babywearing this could be practised before setting up your carrier, throughout carrying when needed, and afterwards.

I’d also encourage you to increase the amount you wash your carriers/slings/wraps after use.

Babywearing will help to calm both your nervous systems at this highly anxious time.

Let the oxytocin flow, keep bonding and connecting with your children ❤️

Follow the precautions, keep boosting your immune system (something the media should be encouraging people to do a hell of a lot more! ), and wear a mask if you are unwell and have been instructed to.

These times are worrying and uncharted and I hope you’re managing as best you can. It’s tough.  #keepcarrying
