Soft, Reusable Washcloths for All of Your Muckee Moments

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

The big one is imposter syndrome and perfectionism. When you don’t know what you don’t know, which is everything when you start, doubt creeps in. There have been many moments where I’ve questioned myself and been worried that I’m making a huge mistake.

The thing that I try to remind myself is that I did build something real while recovering from postnatal anxiety. I did create a product that helps families. I did commit to giving back to PANDA. When I’m in a spiral of self doubt, those facts are what brings me back.

The challenge has been actually believing what I’d tell a friend in the same position – that you have to back yourself, even when it’s scary.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The ultimate pro is flexibility. Becoming a parent taught me how quickly time goes and how precious those present moments are. Being able to work in a way where I can be there for the moments that matter is everything.

Beyond that, there’s something deeply satisfying about building something that’s yours, something you believe in. Every decision reflects your values. Every customer conversation matters.

The cons are real though too. The burnout risk is ironic because I have more flexibility than I ever did in corporate, but because I’m so passionate about our purpose and what we can do for families, I find myself working in every spare moment. Before the kids wake up, during naps, after bedtime. I love it, but balance is crucial, especially if I’m going to model that for my kids.

And financial uncertainty. You have to take a risk and back yourself, knowing there’s no safety net. That’s terrifying some days.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

My ultimate wish is for The Muckee Co. washcloths to become that trusted product parents reach for again and again. The one that makes it onto every baby registry and starting solids list. The essential item that families come back to because it actually works. It’s soft, it’s durable, it looks good and it means something. More products to come too!

I also want to keep growing PANDA’s reach and impact through Muckee. Every sale is an opportunity for a conversation about perinatal mental health and that matters.

And personally? I want to keep building something that lets me be present for my kids while doing work I’m genuinely proud of. I want to show them that you can be ambitious and present. That motherhood and big dreams aren’t mutually exclusive.
