Staying Active During Pregnancy

Tip 3 – Make it a priority

The reality is that finding the motivation to exercise can be tough at the best of times, let alone when you’re tired, your energy levels are lower than normal and you’re getting bigger by the day! Pregnancy snaps up your energy making it harder than normal to stick to healthy habits at a time we need to the most.

Bearing that in mind, if you want to stay fit it needs to be a made a priority and scheduled in. Figure out which time of the day works for you and lock it in.

Tip 4 – Adopt the “something is better than nothing” approach

This is a philosophy we have always been big on! You don’t need an hour, you don’t even need 30 minutes – some movement is always better than none. Short bursts of exercise can do wonders for you both physically and mentally. Even when you’re buggered, a walk around the block can do wonders. Fresh air and movement will actually give you an energy boost.

Tip 5 – Remind yourself of the benefits!

Here are just a few reasons to keep moving:

  • Movement helps reduce backaches, bloating and swelling
  • Increases your energy
  • Improves your mood
  • Improves and helps to maintain your posture as your body changes
  • Exercise maintains and promotes muscles tone, strength and endurance
  • Helps you to sleep better
  • You always feel awesome after!
