Success is in the planning…sometimes

…why DO we put so much pressure on ourselves to set year long goals? Why do we build up this, “New Year’s” mentality so high with so many expectations? Truthfully, we set ourselves up for failure.

So, I decided we would try again! January 31st rolled around and here we are…New Year’s Eve again – minus staying up to midnight because truthfully, I had to go to work the next morning. That night, we celebrated with cupcakes and champagne. February 1st was, “let’s try this again!”

I then got thinking, why DO we put so much pressure on ourselves to set year long goals? Why do we build up this, “New Year’s” mentality so high with so many expectations? Truthfully, we set ourselves up for failure.

New plan, new year, new goals.

On the first of each month, my family and I will be celebrating. Making short-term, attainable goals while reflecting on successes and struggles from the previous month. So far, our goals have been small but manageable, such as: play more after dinner, meal prep, and organizing certain closets/drawers. We aren’t running marathons, but we are doing what is best for us.

March 1st is next week, and I look forward to having some quality family time discussing all the great (and challenging) things that took place in February…over cupcakes of course!
