Through the Messy & the Magical: Supporting Women to Bloom Through Motherhood

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

One of the biggest things I’ve had to work through is imposter syndrome! We all know it… that annoying little voice that says, “Who do you think you are to do this?”. Starting a business that supports women while still doing my own healing brought up so much self-doubt. I had moments where I seriously questioned whether I was “ready” or “qualified enough”.

But over time, I’ve realised you don’t need to have it all figured out to support others. I just need to be honest, real and committed to doing the work alongside them. Every time I showed up – even when I was scared – I proved to myself that I do belong here. And now I get to help other women face that same voice in their head and remind them of the things I needed to be reminded of – that you’re more capable than you think, and you absolutely deserve to take up space.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

It’s still early days, but one thing I already treasure about this journey is the flexibility. Being able to truly show up for my kids and be there for the drop-offs, the cuddles and the little in-between moments I used to miss means everything to me.

That said, it hasn’t been easy. Walking away from a steady, reliable income was scary. There are days when the doubt creeps in and I wonder if I’ve made the right call. But deep down, I know I have. Because what I’m building is rooted in purpose, not just a paycheque.

This work lights me up. It aligns with my heart, my values and the kind of mum and woman I want to be. And while it might not come with all the guarantees, it comes with meaning and that makes it more than worth it. Plus I love role modelling to my girls that they can do scary and hard things!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I have big dreams for She Blooms! A podcast, a book, women’s groups and retreats are all on the horizon. But right now, it’s about building a strong foundation. I’m being intentional, taking my time and making sure I don’t rush the process. I want this to grow in a way that’s sustainable, heart-led and true to the vision I have for the women it’s here to serve.
