With this occupational phenomenon of chronic workplace stress, topped with raising healthy kids, is insane. There is no better time than right now to get an awareness; to do what we can to help each other.
That is why I started my mission to help stressed out, burnt out, overwhelmed working mums reclaim their identities and embrace who they have become, giving them the confidence they need to move forward in life.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I do not believe there is a thing called l ‘work-life balance’ the ever-elusive myth- I believe in work-life integration. I work the needs of my kids, husband, family and others into my day, and I weave it between work, & I now also definitely weave things in for ME. I choose what I put into my day, and who I include and the energy I give the things and the people that matter to me.
Part of knowing who you are, and understanding your identity, is knowing what is important to you and why. So that when you make decisions, you have a better chance of making the right choice (doesn’t mean you always will, you are human after all!)
The Drive: what challenges have you overcome?
The biggest challenge I had to overcome is plain and straightforward – the fear of not being good enough.
I now realise in my heart, that my family is not my family without me – and that is a fact nothing more, nothing less. This drives me to ensure I am there for myself, my family and my clients being the best possible version of me, each and every day.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
I get to meet amazing women who are doing so much for our society and their families; it is awesome when I get to help them work on themselves. And when they realise that if they spend more time looking after themselves, they can do more of what they want – be it work, play, just spending more time with the kids or more ‘business time’!
Hopes and dreams: what next?
To keep the momentum going and continuing to keep sharing with more and more working Mums to help them avoid burnout, and help even more get over their burnout.
I believe with healthier Mums we will have healthier children and in turn, a healthier society. If we can help raise happier, healthier kids than ever before – how awesome would that be!
I am currently creating an online course for our Mums so they can learn at a time that is convenient for them, and from the comfort of their own home. Watch this space!
