PodNSave is run by a mother-daughter team, Hayley and Erika, who are based in East Auckland, New Zealand. With their reusable coffee pods, you no longer have to throw away countless disposable pods a week (often ending up in landfill) and you can use whichever brand of coffee you like. Their pods are made from high-quality materials and are designed to be a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional coffee pods. Their aim is to improve your coffee-drinking experience by providing you with a convenient, affordable, and sustainable option for enjoying your favourite coffee at home. Here, Hayley talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about their business journey so far.
The passion: What inspired you to take over your business?
I was interested in working on something with an environmentally friendly spin and loved the product myself.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I started with the pods; however, we have slowly been introducing new products such as our awesome Travel French Press Mug. I love using this when I go camping or just when I am watching the kids play sports.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
Our biggest breakthrough was increasing the types of coffee we sell. People have a sophisticated palette, so we have introduced a few new coffee products to go with our pods or to use in plungers.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I work from home, which is 100% scary but true! The positive feedback we get from clients makes the balancing act worth it.
