A Healthy & Happy Start to Your Baby’s Food Journey

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

As a mum of three, work-life balance is a constant juggle. As any small business owner will be aware of, it’s hard to switch off from work completely when work is at home. I’ve recently moved my stock and order packing to a warehouse to be able to separate the two a little better and focus on spending the days I’m at home with the kids actually at home with the kids!

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

As above, the work-life juggle is constant. With what we do, our main income comes from social media following so keeping up with the constantly changing algorithm is always challenging!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros would be flexibility, being your own boss, working around the kids and being able to do school pick up every day, and being able to create opportunities for other mums to work around kids and babies too. The cons are almost much the same. Since my job is so flexible and my husband’s is not, much of the family responsibility still falls back on me. Whilst my work is flexible, it still needs to get done, so many hours are spent working and packing orders long after everyone else in the family has gone to bed.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Our new product range is launching next month. Eventually, we would love to see the range stocked at other small businesses all over Australia!

The bigger scale dream is to be able to provide even more free information and education than we already do for new parents! Our app is growing with new resources and recipes every day and we hope that it will one day become a one-stop place for parents to find out everything they need to know about starting solids!

Visit the Starting Solids Australia website to find out more, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
