Childbirth Education: Designed by Midwives For Women of Today

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

As a midwife I am not business orientated! I would love to be able to use my skills without all the business side of things as I am just not wired that way. Learning the ins and outs of running your own business, networking and social media has been a huge challenge for me, and if I’m honest, it still is!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The con of running your own business is most definitely the administrative side of things. I would be completely lost without my team working so furiously behind the scenes. The biggest pro about running my own business is being able to provide realistic education for women, as I am not bound by the policy and ‘red tape’ of the hospitals. I can empower women to feel confident about having a baby and enable them to embrace the process.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

To make our classes accessible for everyone! Although our classes are very reasonably priced, we would love to be able to provide this service for all families – to enable our midwives to provide real-time care with the use of technology for our pregnant ladies, and set up a meeting point for women that don’t have access to technology so everyone can feel empowered and enjoy their transition into parenthood.
