The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Taking over a brand that people already loved was both exciting and a little terrifying! Bebepanda had a beautiful community built around it by founders John and Audrey, and we wanted to honour that while also bringing our own energy to it.
Stepping into someone else’s dream and making it your own takes courage, sensitivity and a fair bit of late night googling! There’s also the eternal challenge of running a product-based business: managing stock, logistics and sustainability commitments, all while raising our own little ones who have absolutely no regard for our deadlines. But every time a parent shares a photo of their little one snoozing in our pyjamas, looking completely cosy and adorable, we remember exactly why we do this.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros? Where do we start! The flexibility to work around our families, the joy of building something meaningful, and the absolute thrill of seeing a print come to life and watching parents fall in love with it. We get to combine two of our greatest passions: kids and creating something that genuinely makes parents’ lives easier. The community we’re building is just the loveliest bunch of humans.
The cons? The to-do list never really ends. There’s always something – a new season to plan, an email to reply to or a mystery bundle to curate. And being sisters means our “business meetings” can very quickly turn into family therapy sessions. But we wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Hopes and dreams: What next?
We have so many exciting ideas bubbling away! We’re passionate about growing our range of prints. There are so many fun themes still to explore (an Aussie collection? A Christmas series?). We also want to continue deepening our sustainability commitments, because the world our little ones are growing up in matters enormously to us.
Beyond that, we hope to keep building a brand that feels like a big, warm hug that makes parents feel seen, supported, and maybe even raises a smile during the beautiful chaos of raising tiny humans.
Ultimately, our dream is simple: keep making bedtime a little easier and keep those little ones cosy, one adorable print at a time. 🐼
