More things my kids need RIGHT THIS SECOND:
- A snack. They are in a constant state of hunger that never ceases. Quick tip: It’s probably best if you don’t sit down. I suggest standing in the kitchen and just keep handing them snacks every 60 seconds. Like it or not, you are their eternal snack bitch.
- Anything you are eating. Doesn’t matter what it is or when they have last eaten… they want what is in your hand or on your plate. If there is only one left, they get it. No questions asked.
- Anything that pops into their heads that hasn’t been seen or talked about for years. Find that. Now. Go.
- A drink. Milk. I want milk. No wait, not milk, juice. That’s it. I want juice now. Then more water. Then back to #2 above. Like I said. Snack bitch.
- Another YouTube video. If you’re making dinner, stop. If you’re in the bathroom, too bad. Come now. The video has ended and they need a new one immediately. “I want the one with the sister Barbie that takes a bath with the dog and the sparkly purple whale.” Find that. “No, not that one! I said the purple whale…” (insert eye roll here).
- To know what you just said to anyone… ever. “What mum?” “What are you talking about?” “Wait… what?” Doesn’t matter if it is the most pointless, insignificant statement ever. Doesn’t matter if it is none of their business. It will need to be repeated. They will hear it all. Except when you tell them to do something. Then they conveniently can’t hear a damn thing.
- To be wherever I am. In the bathroom, the garage, in bed, in the closet, outside… they need to be there. They will find you. You can run, but you cannot hide.

I currently work full-time and in my free time I enjoy….oh wait. I have no free time. I love spending as much time as I can with my husband and children. Being a mom is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. I am amazed every day at the chaos, laughs, adventures, and exhaustion that motherhood brings.”
