With a deep respect for nature and a commitment to safe, nourishing products for the whole family, Earthie Organics is redefining what it means to care for skin – both for yourself and the delicate skin of your little ones. When founder Kacea Omeje first began blending raw shea butter and natural oils in her kitchen, she could not have imagined the positive reviews and demand for her products. What started as a personal journey towards simpler, more conscious living has grown into a thriving business rooted in ancestral wisdom and gentle ingredients. Earthie products are made from raw, ethically sourced ingredients largely originating from West Africa. Their knowledge and approach are deep-rooted in their Igbo heritage and cultural links, where the importance of looking after your skin was instilled from a young age. Here, Kacea talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind her business, her biggest breakthrough, the challenges she has overcome, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I was most inspired by the amazing feedback and reviews I was receiving from family and friends who had tried my skincare products. I had so many repeat orders and requests coming in that I really had no other choice but to set Earthie up as a business!
After running the business for a few years now, I think what inspires me the most is being able to craft and create products from scratch. The novelty of being in the kitchen, working with natural ingredients and using my hands and energy to infuse the products hasn’t worn off and it still feels like exactly where I am supposed to be. Hearing all of the 5* reviews and having return orders to this day remind me of this too.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
In my early twenties, I was on a personal journey of seeking out simpler and more natural ways to live. After becoming more conscious about my buying habits, I was starting to question why I thought I needed so many skincare products that have SO many ingredients in them – many of which I was learning were bad for my skin and for the land.
I started to connect with the incredible Earthie gift my ancestors have used for millennia – shea butter! I became obsessed with raw west African shea butter back in 2016. I loved the way it made my skin feel, the way it was harvested, and the importance and value it has for female traders in Africa where it is known as the ‘women’s gold’. Shea butter is a true queen – an ancient and natural staple ingredient, packed with many vitamins for the skin.
Shea butter really found me at the right time. I’d be up all hours of the night mixing it with lots of different natural oils in my kitchen until I birthed my OG baby the Blessed Body Butter There was no going back from here. I knew I had to share this guaranteed 24 hour + moisture and softness with my close ones, which naturally expanded over a short time into a brand I now call Earthie Organics.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough for Earthie has been finding an Earthie HQ when I was 6 weeks postpartum with my first baby! I had been yearning for a new space to create our products, since they were mainly being made in the kitchen at home. With our baby on the way, I knew that I needed to find somewhere to upgrade our manufacturing and production process. I would daydream often about an affordable space with lots of natural light and windows with a beautiful view.
Once my son was born, I never had enough time to actively look for a space and when I would look, I’d be disheartened by the price or the layout. One day, I was scrolling on Facebook marketplace looking for a piece of furniture and a local rental unit appeared! It ticked all the boxes and more and I was able to move in within the next week. It all happened so quickly yet so smoothly.
Having an Earthie HQ has shaped the brand beautifully. We’ve been able to grow the brand here and there seems to be a lot more opportunities available now to us.
I am super grateful. It has been a huge blessing.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Balance and presence is really important for me and my family. I have accepted and made peace with a much slower pace of business growth than that which is widely expected of businesses. I do what I can with the time that I have and I know that it is enough. My time with family will always be my priority, and I’m thankful to have built a brand that works beautifully to support that.
