Fun, Comfortable Shoes for Little Ones that Mimic Barefoot Walking

What have you learnt about yourself since becoming a business owner?

That’s a tough one! I’ve learnt to back my own judgement more. I’ve learnt that my own limitations are only set by my own expectations of myself. I know Big Toes has enormous potential and it was very scary when we first started up. As everyone knows, starting a business, there is a huge amount of risk, both financially and emotionally. The investment you put in is truly daunting and honestly, it still is! But, the main thing I’ve learnt is the quality in our products. Our return customers prove this point for us with each and every order they place and every referral they give for us.

A year ago, you talked about the struggle to get that perfect work/life balance – do you feel you have found the right balance now and, if so, how have you achieved this?

You’d be better to ask my husband! I’ve gotten better but there is always room for improvement, right? But I guess the balance is becoming more… balanced.

If you could go back and give yourself 3 pieces of advice before starting your business, what would they be?
  1. It is OK to ask for help.
  1. Research and vision is key. Research your vision and PLAN! Start at your end goal and work your way backwards to the present day, and plan how you will get there!
  1. Trust yourself.
What is next for BigToes? What goals and dreams do you have for the future?

Larger sizes and Australiana themed prints… Yes, this was one of our goals last year, but as we have continued to grow as a business, we are getting closer to our goal! Our research shows we should be barefoot for the first six years of our life, so our goal is to cater to that age group.
