The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One of the biggest challenges has been creating something that stays true to its values in a world where the beauty industry often prioritises marketing over ingredients. I wanted Lovette to be genuinely natural, as clean as it gets, high quality and safe enough for the whole family to use, which means being very thoughtful about every ingredient and decision.
Balancing that with learning the many moving parts of building a business has been a journey, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. I have designed the logo, formulated the products, created the products, I do the marketing, built the website, etc. – any small business knows what I am saying!
Also, being heard in what feels like a sea of noise can be challenging, but we just keep sowing the seeds and moving through that.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
One of the greatest pros of running our own business is the opportunity to build something that is truly heart-led. Lovette is deeply personal to me, so it’s incredibly fulfilling to create products I genuinely believe in and to see them resonate with others. There’s something very special about watching an idea grow and seeing how far it can go.
Of course, the early stages of a business also require a lot of dedication. Like many small businesses, there are long hours and plenty of learning as you navigate the startup phase, and the income doesn’t reflect that. But for me, the sense of purpose and creativity that comes from building something meaningful makes the journey incredibly worthwhile.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
Looking ahead, my hope is to continue growing Lovette in a way that stays true to its heart. My daughter Gigi, who is very much a big dreamer, often says we should aim for the shelves of places like Mecca or Sephora one day, offering a cleaner, more natural option for young people (actually all people) who are becoming curious about clean beauty.
For me, the real dream is to keep expanding the range with simple, organic skincare that the whole family can use – beautiful, multi-use products that are thoughtfully made, accessible and rooted in nature. I’d love Lovette to become something families can trust and enjoy using together and ultimately to grow into a household name in natural skincare – a brand known for its integrity and the legacy it leaves in creating truly gentle, quality, organic products for generations to come.
