It was Courtney Lowe-Hogan’s desire to support, uplift and celebrate mums and mums-to-be that inspired the idea for Mama & Bell. After welcoming her own daughter into the world, she discovered firsthand how overwhelming and isolating early motherhood can be. She set out to create a haven for mums and babies – to be nurtured and genuinely cared for. Each Mama & Bell.gift box is thoughtfully curated with luxurious, trusted products. Tried, tested and adored by fellow mums, the collection blends everyday essentials with touches of comfort and indulgence, offering both practicality and a moment of calm. What began as a passion project has grown into a heartfelt mission: to ensure every mum and mum-to-be feels supported, celebrated and special.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
My daughter Isabella inspired Mama & Bell. When I became a mum, I quickly realised how overwhelming and isolating motherhood can feel. I wanted to create a space where mums feel seen, supported and celebrated – offering thoughtful gift boxes filled with products I personally trust, love and would choose for myself with a touch of luxury.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
We started with a very soft launch, testing the waters and learning as we went. Running a small business means some days you question everything, but I’m so grateful for a supportive husband who’s an amazing sounding board. Starting a business is certainly no small task. I guess that’s why not everyone does it! But the passion and love I have for Mama & Bell keeps me going. I adore what I do, and I love creating beautiful products that make other mums and mums-to-be feel seen, supported and a little bit special.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough for me has been building genuine relationships and collaborating with other businesses. A real turning point was connecting with fellow women in business. Working alongside brands led by mums has been both inspiring and empowering. It’s a beautiful reminder of just how powerful it is when women choose to support women.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
It’s always a juggle, but I’ve learned it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. For me, it’s about weaving little things into the week that genuinely fill my cup – whether that’s a walk, a coffee in peace or just a few quiet minutes to reset. It’s taken me a long time to realise it, but when I make space for the things that make me feel good, I show up as a better mum, a more present wife and a happier version of myself.
I’ve found a few little habits that help me juggle work and mum life while still making space to recharge. Movement is a big one for me. I’m a huge advocate for exercise, not just for feeling stronger and healthier, but for the mental reset it gives me. A walk outside or a Pilates class always leaves me feeling refreshed (and sometimes it’s just the simple act of getting out of the house that does the trick).
Eating well is another priority, and I focus mostly on a wholefoods diet that makes me feel my best. Having dinner together as a family each night is really special too. It’s our chance to slow down, reconnect and share about our days. Those little conversations are often my favourite part.
And then there’s sleep – probably the biggest non-negotiable. If I’m not rested, everything feels that much harder. I’m an early riser (usually up around 5am), so you’ll almost always find me with a book in bed by 9pm.
