Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
My daughter is almost 2 and she is very demanding of my time and attention, so at the moment I find the only time I have to work on and in my business is when she is asleep at night, or if I wake up before she does. I try not to work on the weekend, but I feel like the ball never really stops with an online business – there really needs to be self discipline in place.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I regularly get imposter syndrome, and I need to pinch myself. I still need to work on my time management too!
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The cons are that you only have yourself to rely on, and you’re only as good as the time you put into it.
The biggest pro is that I have control over everything when it comes to the business.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I hope this little business grows to the point where I can hire staff and have my friends work beside me in my business. I’m lucky enough that one of my girlfriends helps me late at night with labelling when both of our kids are asleep.
I would also love financial freedom from my business.
