When they discovered they were pregnant with baby London, at first, they felt very reserved – as you would be after experiencing so much loss already. With IVF, you can have a positive pregnancy test and a heartbeat and still lose your baby – so it’s really a waiting game and a rollercoaster of emotions.
“We didn’t want anyone to know for a while,” Patricia says. “We told our moms and waited to tell the rest of our family and friends.”
Their ultimate success, and from their very last embryo, is a story that they wish will give hope to other parents on this particular journey. We asked what message they would like to share with other women going through IVF, and Patricia says, “Don’t be afraid to cry when you need to cry and talk to people about it. Keep hope and find your faith. Make sure your fertility doctor is making a plan for you and your individual body and not the general protocol.”
Wise words from someone with far too much experience, but they got there in the end.
Welcome, baby London. You are already so loved.
