Honestly, I just take every day as it comes with no expectations. I do what I can and trust that everything happens for a reason.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
My biggest challenge was with my first supplier! Unfortunately, there were some fundamental problems with my first order so I have been busy getting to the bottom of this and finding a new supplier that can manufacture the premium quality products that I promise to produce. I was so thrilled when I found the perfect team, with quality being our mutual priority above everything else.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are that working life is flexible! You can build your business however you like: fast or slow, global or local, nightshift or dayshift etc. You are in control of your own future and there are no limits on what that looks like; your hard work and efforts are supporting your own dreams.
Running your own business builds you as a person. It is a constant learning journey about both business and mindset. I have overcome so many challenges that only a few years ago I would have run and hidden from! I am very proud of what I have achieved so far and am excited about what is to come.
The cons are that it is hard to switch off! I love what I do and can get lost in my work very easily. I strive to provide the best service I can to my customers, which can sometimes impede on family time.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I launched my products in the USA at the beginning of the year and will be bringing them to Australia very soon! I am in discussions with some large retailers who are interested in supplying the Mighty Walrus brand, so for those customers who prefer to shop in store, we will be available in stores around the country as well as online!
