Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Honestly, I don’t think I have learnt to balance this yet. I am so passionate about Love Cubs that I am constantly thinking of new designs and collections. Thinking of new and exciting ways to introduce affirmations into homes. Although, I find that I am most creative when I am out camping with friends and family, away from my desk and technology, and have a chance to mentally switch off.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
My biggest challenge has been imposter syndrome and comparing myself and Love Cubs to other similar companies. I am learning to stay in my own lane and stay true to myself and my core values. Remembering my “why” is a big part of this.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
A big con is that I can never seem to switch off (unless I am camping!). Being a solo entrepreneur meant that I had to learn every aspect of running a business – bookkeeping, copyright, websites, sales, marketing, social media – everything!
Being a solo business owner can be lonely, but it has also meant that I have found and created some amazing networks both on and off social media and have met the most incredible, inspiring people with similar goals and mindsets.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
So much! I would love to one day have a warehouse that would not only be my office and hold stock, but it would also be a calm and inviting retail space, as well as being able to hold workshops.
