The drive: What challenges have you overcome? 

The list is too long to put in here! Starting a business weeks before COVID, restarting a new business amongst the pandemic, doing this while homeschooling and as a single parent as my husband was working away from home… it’s been a 2-year journey of challenges to over come! 

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business? 

The benefits would definitely be that you get to create what your business does and how it works – you decide where and when you will spend your time and efforts. For me, it’s also meant that I have had a lot more time to be home raising my kids.

The cons would be that you need to upskill and cross-learn in so many areas in the beginning when you are just starting out… you need to wear all the hats in the business. It can also feel lonely at times, so it’s important to ensure that you surround yourself with supportive peers through networking or coaching groups.  

Hopes and dreams: What next? 

I’m currently revamping my online program into a combined service of my healthy habits course and my health and fitness platform, all to be available in the one health hub. I’m also looking to add in a household budgeting and money area into the course, utilising my prior accounting career knowledge. This is set to revamp in the warmer months – for now we are taking some time to hibernate through the winter.
