The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Moving to Germany at the end of my study without being fluent in the language was difficult. This meant I was unable to sit my medical exams in Germany and open an in-person practice there. However, this also meant that I was given the opportunity to walk with the ancestors of those lands and have them whisper in my ear as I explored the forests, connecting with the nature spirits as I found my path as a wild-crafter, forager and medicine maker. These old traditions have been lost in today’s busy world, and I didn’t know it at the time, but it was something my heart had longed for and I was being divinely guided into returning to this way of life. Flowing with the natural rhythms of the world is the only way to live. In Germany, I was able to delve into shamanic practices which are now becoming the foundations of my offerings at Green Heart Herbals.
I have learned that closed doors are not rejection. They are redirection in disguise, and that we are being divinely guided in all that we do, all the time. As challenges appear, the best thing we can do is to surrender to the flow of where they are leading us. This takes patience, practice and discipline, however becomes easier over time and leads to birthing beautiful things.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
I absolutely love what I do! I live and breathe this way of life and am overjoyed in sharing my offerings with others. I love teaching children about the magic on this Earth, the hidden medicines and gems right under our noses. The reconnection with something that has been lost as the industrialised and consumeristic values of the current era have consumed our values and traditions is important to me, however this also presents challenges. We live in an overly comfortable and convenient world that has somehow divided us from the truth of who we are, and this has devalued the essence of what I teach in this modern world, which makes my small business not as attractive as some other businesses. I share ways to be self-sufficient, which means empowering YOU through tools, education and action. Not everyone is onboard for that kind of responsibility, but I hope that as more people connect with this way of life, this way of life will connect more people.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have been blessed to walk under the wing of incredible, traditional Andean Q’ero Shamans who have taught me, and continue to guide me in my energetic and shamanic work. In honour of their wishes, teachings and guidance, I will bring their teachings to these lands. The ancient prophecies speak of these times we are in, and it is their wish for me to share their heart medicine and practices with this part of the world. It is up to ordinary people, like you and me, to join hearts and mend this world. Through traditional practices, living in right relationship, and in true reciprocity (called Ayni in the Andes), we can repair our relationship with this Earth. We can walk once more in harmony and peace together: man and animal, and all life on this Earth, as it was always intended.
Through expanding my offerings and shamanic teachings and ceremonies with my community, I hope to share these practices and rekindle the connection to self and to the lands that our ancestors knew so well, (and that they are rallying with us to remember now). It is time. It is time to rise up and reclaim what has never left us: the knowledge and wisdom that we are all one, and that together we can live in harmony with this Earth. The future is bright, but we must actively pave the way to this bright land.
