The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Like many small business owners, wearing all the hats has been one of the biggest challenges – from logistics to marketing to customer care. Learning how to manage the tech side (hello, Google Merchant Center!) and drive traffic with zero followers in the beginning was a big hurdle. But each challenge has helped me grow more confident and capable – and I’m still learning every day.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The best part is definitely the freedom to create something meaningful and the joy of seeing someone’s reaction when they receive one of our parcels. But it also means you’re always thinking about it – even at 3 a.m. feeds! The responsibility can feel heavy, especially starting from scratch, but the fulfillment far outweighs the pressure.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I’d love to grow Precious Parcels into a go-to destination for baby gifting in New Zealand – not just for parents, but for workplaces, baby showers, and anyone wanting to send something meaningful. I’m excited to expand our range, build our presence, and eventually give back to new parents through community partnerships and care initiatives.
