WholeHealth: Simple Steps to a Healthier, Happier Life

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

Our son Lucas is the biggest driver of WholeHealth in that his wellbeing comes before EVERYTHING nowadays – and this is non-negotiable!

I only work when he is at school, so at 2.45pm every afternoon the laptop goes off, I close the door to my office, and (for the most part!) my job for the rest of the day is mum!

This has probably been one of the hardest parts of this business journey for me, as in my old life as a corporate FC, he was collected by a nanny from school and I regularly worked Saturdays or Sundays (and often both!). I think this mindset is slowly fading, and I am slowly realising I can work effectively without working constantly.

Becoming organised has been the key for me – I always joke (as an ex FC) that I live my life by spreadsheets, but as a business owner, having an organised, planned, scheduled system has been vital to becoming the present parent I am striving to become.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

In a nutshell – 2020!!

It was certainly a challenging year to invest in a new business, but I truly believe now more than ever before it is so important to get my message out there to anybody feeling overwhelmed.

I am in the wellness space and it was a challenge for me to remain positive (mentally and physically), and this drives me to just keep connecting.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

I love the freedom it affords me – from attending Lucas’s assemblies to being able to catch up with friends and colleagues in the week for a quick beach walk (with no-one to answer to!).

I have met some incredible people whilst getting out in our communities, and connected with some beautiful women in my Feel Better Tribe on Facebook.

Occasionally, working from home can be a little isolating but I try very hard to interact with at least one big human face every day!!

Being the sole decision maker is at times incredibly rewarding but can also be a little terrifying – fortunately, I am married to a very patient man who acts as my sounding board, even if I don’t always take notice of his helpful advice!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

More of the same for me!!

2021 will see me building my business (whilst being Lucas’s mum!) and keep on doing what I am doing…… getting visible, getting out into our communities, just talking health, offering advice, and striving to get my message to the people that need me!

Personally, we have a house move coming up so WholeHealth will be relocating, with the big dream to one day have a beautiful consulting room in a wellness hub full of incredible and inspiring people!!
