Turning Fleeting Moments into Cherished Memories to Last a Lifetime

Photo Carnival

A photographer of over ten years, Danni Yu was inspired to create Photo Carnival, where she celebrates the love, laughter and unique bonds that make every family special. Whether it’s candid moments or timeless portraits, Danni aims to capture the warmth and connection that tell your family’s story, turning fleeting moments into cherished memories that last a lifetime. With her bubbly and positive personality, she believes photography should be a fun and creative experience that is about connecting with her clients and capturing emotions. Here she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind her business, her biggest breakthrough, how she balances work and family life, and her hopes and dreams for the future.

The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?

Brought up in a strict household, I always craved creativity and what inspired me with photography is the photographer’s unique perspective. I often hear people say they are not photogenic or don’t like their photos taken, so my mission was to not only take stunning beautiful photos, but also to make the photography experience fun and delightful.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?

My husband believed that my photos were great and supported me in building my studio. He literally ripped our garage door out and converted it into our first studio. Now we own the only commercial studio in Rodney area (Auckland), so we have come a long way.

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

Becoming more experienced not only as a photographer but as a business owner has been my biggest breakthrough. This means I’m better at communicating, understanding and meeting clients’ needs and wants, working together to create the results they’ve envisioned.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

I spend late nights editing and work on the weekends, with lots of family support!
