The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
We have overcome many challenges, from sourcing and importing the pumps during a pandemic through to the biggest challenge that we are still overcoming, which is learning about marketing to get our business and brand out there.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Essentially, you get out of it what you put in, however, in this economic climate, it’s even more of a risk to own your own business. Just working hard doesn’t ensure you will succeed, but if you do, you get to reap all the rewards.
Being able to be in control and make your own decisions is a pro and a con at the same time. Both myself (Annie) and my business partner (Jed) have other full-time jobs, which is great financial security, but we would love Mum’s Milkyway to be successful enough for us to run it as our full-time job.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
Our ethos is all about providing caring products that nurture new mums and babies and we hope to expand our brand by sourcing and selling nurturing products for both mum and baby.
