Aegean Olive Oil Skincare to Refresh, Heal & Moisturise

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

The biggest breakthrough was finding retailers and being able to show our products in stores throughout the country.

We are excited to be introducing some new products next month. Dalan has created world-first, super-safe baby bars with organic ingredients. They are completely free of harsh chemicals and full of nutrients and moisturisers for your babies’ delicate skin. They are available with Organic Aloe Vera, Chamomile or Cotton (seed oil).

Also coming soon are the 3 Mineral Soap Bars which are paired with Bamboo Charcoal, Sea Salt or Grapeseed Oil. Each of the soap bars has their own benefits: charcoal kills bacteria and the soap treats oily skin, acne and cleanses pores removing unwanted oil from the face and body; sea salt, being a natural humectant, reduces the loss of moisture to your skin, helps leave skin soft without being greasy, and is a gentle exfoliator, thereby removing dead skin cells and promoting skin rejuvenation; grapeseed oil is an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and has antioxidant properties. It treats acne outbreaks, improves the skin’s moisture, and preserves your skin, maintaining Vitamin E, and Vitamin C in your skin. The powerful antioxidants also help protect skin from absorbing full damage from UV rays.

There are also some exciting product sizing changes:

Shower Gel, and Body Lotion will be available in 400ml.
Shower Gel will also be available in 3 variations, as will the Liquid Soap.
Olive Oil Soap bars increase from 150gm to 200gm.

Beautiful gift soaps will also be available for special occasions, and these are awesome 200gm bars.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

This is the hard part of working in a family business. I’m not sure I have the balance right yet, but fortunately for me, my boys are older and able to either help out at markets or festivals, as well as with packing orders at home.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Running the business as a solo mum, I’ve had to turn “work” into fun family times. Road trips are taken during school holidays so we’ve seen parts of New Zealand we probably would not have visited by now. We have had to speak to people from all walks of life, learn to be comfortable to be in public and sell a lifestyle of healthy personal care products.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros are being one’s own boss and being able to put the huge effort in and see the results. We are starting to see our little business grow, and this is such an incredible feeling.
