The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Our amazing contact has recently passed away so we are working on where we go to next with keeping in contact with our amazing sewers to make sure we can still keep up the great quality. We are confident we will still be able to grow and are determined to make sure we continue to put out a top-quality product that would make Harold proud.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
We love that we can come home and see our product knowing that it is something we have invested so much time and effort into, and that it can put a smile on our faces, especially when an order comes in. I love picking out the pieces someone has ordered and writing a thank you note so they know just how much we appreciate the support.
Learning about all the accounts has been the hardest part. It’s not something I have had to deal with previously. Luckily, we have an amazing accountant who does keep me on my toes and leave me with homework.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
We have a few new bigger events coming up this year so are working at growing outside of Christchurch and the markets and really letting people know how good our products are. We are also looking to grow our sizes as our own little man outgrows the current sizes we stock. We know there is a gap in the market with sizing so we are working hard to make sure we have products that fit and grow with kids of all ages.
