The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
As mentioned earlier, I had to overcome the sudden loss of the factory I had been working with. It had taken many months to find the right factory so when they suddenly shut down it was a bit of a shock, but I got back out there, found another factory and carried on.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
A big pro is that it is something that I am passionate about. I love fashion and when I was younger I used to design my own clothes. As a breastfeeding mum, it’s also been great as I have had a number of samples to try out, so I’ve never been short of anything to wear!
I don’t really have any cons other than I would maybe like another few hours in the day!
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have all kinds of ideas. Firstly, I’d like to get more designs out there with a focus on fashion but also practicality. I hope to eventually also be able to quit my current full-time job and make Fierce my job full time and be my own boss. I’d like to one day help to support and empower more women to breastfeed or continue to breastfeed. I would do this by helping to set up support groups through Fierce for any woman who is struggling, needs a chat or just wants to meet other breastfeeding mums. They say it takes a village and that’s what I’d like to help to create.
Head over to the Fierce website to browse their gorgeous range of breastfeeding-friendly clothing. You can also follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
