The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One of the most challenging things we’ve ever had to face was the Covid lockdowns in Victoria. As all of our dresses are made in Melbourne, the snap lockdowns meant that our manufacturers and factories closed without notice. We sold through our stock on hand very quickly with an uncertain wait time on forward orders. Like many other small businesses, it was an extremely tricky time, but through perseverance and continued support from our incredible customers, we stayed afloat and came out the other side with a renewed passion to share the mama love and to push forward in growing our business.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros are absolutely being able to balance time to work around the needs of my family. Plus the incredible customers and friends I’ve made on this journey. I always try to shop from small businesses first, and share the love around! The cons would be needing tonnes of self-motivation, and being responsible for absolutely everything!!
Hopes and dreams: What next?
We’re on our way to adding additional gorgeous mama and baby must-haves to our Comfort Mama collection. Robes, breastfeeding tees, swaddles, baby wear, gift boxes and toys, all this year. Watch this space!
