The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Being a solopreneur of two brands (Shine Om – teaches yoga and mindfulness to kids, teens and families) and a new mum has been the most significant challenge in business by far. You must wear multiple hats – from marketing and finance to operations and managing a baby you are getting to know – often lead to overwhelming moments. My most significant breakthroughs were asking for help, connecting with like-minded people in business, and setting needle movers. Having clear goals and breaking down tasks has helped me achieve something each day.
Creating a brand that caters to all family members has presented its hurdles. Ensuring that my products were effective and safe for children required meticulous attention to formulation. I triumphed over this challenge by combining my knowledge of natural ingredients with a deep understanding of the needs of parents and kids, resulting in a range that is accessible, trustworthy, and loved by families.
Moreover, winning the She-com Editor’s Choice Award was a triumph over the industry’s standards, affirming that our essential oil blends stand out in quality and authenticity. This accolade recognised our dedication to excellence and helped overcome scepticism in a market saturated with choices.

Running my own business has been a journey of profound highs and inevitable challenges.
It allows me to pursue passionate, value-driven work, creating products that reflect my values and add a profound purpose to each day. The sense of contribution and making a difference amplifies the significance of my work.
