The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
My passion has never wavered and I want to keep doing more with babies and families. The biggest breakthrough has been actually launching the business after years of sharing my expertise to empower the families to start their new journey.
I always knew some families felt like they needed more support from someone qualified, friendly and experienced. After the 6 weeks Ministry Of Health time is completed, I have often kept in touch with families long past the government funding.
Libby & Co recognises that every baby and their families have individual needs and helps families to understand realistic expectations, setting a framework for a balanced and happy home .
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Having a very supportive husband and family has been integral to my ability to learn and develop my career and ultimately have the courage to launch my business.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Passion helps everything and this is the key driver for Libby & Co. Balance is also the key. I have always wanted to be a dedicated and loving mother and to be able to enjoy a rewarding career. So, I chose to work in a way that I could do/be both. My children are now young adults and also now friends. I understand the conflict between being a good mum, a great wife and great midwife. It doesn’t always come together perfectly and I want to help others understand this .
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I hope my experience and wisdom helps make parenthood more fun and rewarding for my clients. In time I hope to extend the services and the reach of the business.
