Ethically-made, organic clothing for babies & children

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

When we first started, I was also working a full-time job which meant the business was almost a hobby, however I was able to leave that job and focus solely on Button Clothing last year which has made it much easier. I do still struggle with having boundaries around work time and family time as I get passionate and wrapped up in it all and I don’t think anyone can say what the perfect formula is because everyone is different…I think as long as you get 80% there then that’s a win.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Our production is in a country that operates in a completely different business environment to us. Timelines and deadlines don’t exist, languages barriers are a daily challenge/giggle, and online/social media frameworks are constantly changing – if you don’t laugh you cry, but each and every challenge that we overcome makes it worthwhile when we see photos of adorable babies and children wearing our clothing.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

You get to be creative, choose when and how you work and operate your business within your own morals and values which is an amazing feeling. We have made some beautiful connections with beautiful people along the way – we know who made your clothes! At the same time, you have to be prepared for hurdles as sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know until you are faced with a hiccup.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

We want to continue spreading the word about the importance of babies and children wearing natural and organic fabrics. We have a new range dropping in August and we can’t wait!
