The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One big challenge has been learning how to communicate the value of what I do, to help people understand it better. Everyone has toys, it’s a given when you have children, but the challenge for parents is to not let the toys take over every area of their home. Now, I talk about how my business helps children gain freedom, confidence, and grow authentically into themselves – starting from small changes around the home. My biggest current challenge is in scaling the business – figuring out the right marketing strategies to reach more families. I’m experimenting, learning and building along the way.
I share videos and tips for parents on Instagram to help them get started.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The thing I love the most about my business is working so closely with families and children. The early years are the foundation of wider learning and influence the children’s lives beyond education, impacting wellbeing, mental and physical health, resilience, empathy, self-esteem, trust and independence. The pro is supporting parents to understand the value of the home environment to the overall growth and happiness of their children and seeing their feedback.
Another big pro is helping families with children who have additional needs such as ADHD and autism, because bringing even the smallest amount of structure can significantly improve their stability, independence and growth. The impact is significant.
The biggest challenge for me is learning the ins and outs of social media and how to use that to my advantage when it comes to effectively promoting my business. I am making progress towards it. It’s all a learning process but I’m loving every moment and seeing my business grow from it.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I’m in the process of building a website and finishing some projects I have been working on. Looking ahead, I want to expand into taking my work online -supporting parents in not only creating aesthetically appealing play spaces, but also transforming them into learning hubs and homeschooling spaces.
I’d love to move beyond playrooms and children’s bedrooms to help make all areas of the home as child-friendly as possible.
