For mum-of-three Steph Clark, being a parent has taught her how important it is to connect deeply with our children and to provide them with opportunities to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. At LilBigWorld, she wants to share this passion for learning and connection with families everywhere, inspiring children to become more focused and engaged learners. Their mission is to empower the next generation by promoting reading and learning in a fun and engaging way, helping them to live happier, more positive, and more fulfilled lives. Their interactive board books are designed to capture your child’s imagination and provide endless hours of fun and education. Here Steph talks to The Natural Parent about the inspiration behind her business, her biggest breakthrough, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I started LilBigWorld in 2021, after having my third child. My intention for starting LilBigWorld was to create products that help parents bond with their little ones. A special bond nurtured in the simple moments, through small routines that foster emotional security and boundless love. Being a mum has taught me how important it is to connect deeply with our children and to provide them with opportunities to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. Through LilBigWorld, I aim to share this passion for learning and connection with families everywhere.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
Our journey started in March 2022 when we introduced our first two books to the world. Our primary goal was to gauge the response from our customers, and let me tell you, the warmth and enthusiasm with which they embraced our products was truly heartening. It was a remarkable start that fueled our dedication to creating meaningful connections through what we offer.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
One standout moment that comes to mind is when one of our stockists shared that our books were consistently the most viewed items in her online shop. It was a remarkable revelation that affirmed the resonance our products have within the market. This breakthrough not only validated our efforts but also underscored the connection between our vision and the audience’s interest. It was a true milestone that invigorated our team and fueled our commitment to creating meaningful products.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Both parenting and entrepreneurship can be overwhelming. It’s certainly not easy – you just have to accept there’s no perfect entrepreneur and there’s no such thing as a perfect parent. I’ve learned to let go of perfection. I delegate spending more time with my family which is also a top priority.
