The passion: What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always loved making cute things, but I reached peak obsession when I discovered diaper cakes. I mean, who knew nappies could look this fancy? 😄 It started as a fun hobby, making baby gifts for friends, and then suddenly, everyone wanted one… and then their friends… and then random strangers.
That’s when I realised, okay, this isn’t just a hobby anymore; this is a business waiting to happen! I get a real kick out of turning everyday baby essentials into something that makes people say “WOW!” (and sometimes, “How is that even nappies?”).
I love creating gifts that are practical, gorgeous and guaranteed to steal the show at any baby shower. So here I am, turning my craft addiction into a business and helping people give gifts that are useful, unforgettable and just a little bit extra… because why not?

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I launched this business completely by accident. It started with me at the kitchen table, buried under nappies, rubber bands and ribbons (honestly, it looked like a glitter bomb went off but without glitter). I made a few diaper cakes as gifts, and suddenly everyone wanted one, and it expanded from there. Next thing you know, I’m not just making diaper cakes; I’m making towel cakes too – perfect for pool parties, summer lovers and surfer enthusiasts who think the ocean is their second home.
There was no business plan – just pure creativity, chaos and a glue gun that has seen things. And that’s how it all began, one gorgeous cake at a time and a whole lot of fun along the way.

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough for me was realising I could create truly unique, fun and personal gifts. I started with diaper cakes and then added towel cakes for summer parties and surfer enthusiasts, taking my creations beyond baby showers.
Even with slow days, seeing the joy on someone’s face when they discover a handmade gift makes it all worth it. It’s taught me to trust my ideas, embrace creativity and celebrate every little success.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
I’m a proud mother of two amazing sons, aged 16 and 12, who love to pop in and admire my creation. They even help sometimes with rubber bands, since I use two different styles of assembly. My husband is wonderfully supportive, but the delicate touch? That’s all me!
Balancing work and family feels natural when creativity, love and a little teamwork flow through the house. Even amidst ribbons, nappies and glue chaos, it’s all part of the fun.
