Health & Wellbeing Support from Conception to Postpartum

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

Running your own business is a 24/7 thing. This can make it hard to switch off and so boundaries are important. My family and health have always been most important to me, so I have always tried to practice what I preach and make sure I make decisions to serve these things first. Living this way is definitely not a quick-track to business success but I think the sacrifice is worth it for our family!

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

It seems like there are challenges every day in a small business! I have learnt to try and take each challenge as an opportunity to learn. Sometimes the challenges can really feel like failures – and the greatest lesson has been learning that this is not a bad thing, but failures are really a natural part of taking a risk and can actually direct us to a better path.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

Starting a business feels like an emotional rollercoaster – one minute you have a run of small wins that make you feel on top of the world and the next minute you feel the crippling effects of imposter syndrome. You definitely have to be your own biggest cheerleader if you want to run your own business!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Big plans! 2020 taught me so many lessons and really opened up new ways that we could offer health and wellbeing services to mums. Now it is time to put all the things we have learnt over the last 2 years into action and make The Nurture Centre a household name!
