The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?
One of my biggest challenges was figuring out how to cut through all the noise online and really connect with parents. There’s so much misinformation about conventional sleep training, and I struggled when parents would ask, “How do I start sleep training my baby?”. My response was always, Why do you think your baby needs sleep training? What’s going on with their sleep right now? So often, there’s nothing “wrong” with a baby’s sleep-just specific challenges to address, like getting them comfortable in a cot. That’s not sleep training; it’s problem-solving! I wanted families to feel empowered with the tools and confidence to handle any regressions or sleep challenges without having to call in a sleep coach every time something popped up.

For Better or Worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The best part? Making a real difference. Nothing beats the buzz of getting a message from a parent in disbelief because their baby is finally sleeping soundly in their cot or through the night. Knowing I’m helping families get the rest they desperately need is amazing.
I also love the freedom it gives me. I don’t mind starting work early or staying up late when I can balance it with long walks in nature with my two dogs. Those walks are my reset button and do wonders for my mental health-I honestly feel so much better now that I can prioritise taking care of myself.
The downside? The never-ending to-do list! I’m everything rolled into one: accountant, social media manager, admin assistant, and sleep coach. It can be overwhelming at times, but it’s worth it for the flexibility and fulfilment I get from running my own show.

Hopes and Dreams: What’s next?
I’m super excited about turning my newborn sleep guide into a masterclass with bite-sized videos and modules. It’s the method I’ve perfected over the last 20 years working as a nanny, and I can’t wait to share it with families who prefer a more self-paced option.
Oh, and in 2025, I’m launching a podcast! I’ll be chatting with all sorts of baby experts-doulas, breastfeeding consultants, fellow nannies, and more. The goal is to create a kind of virtual village, where parents can find answers to all their questions and feel supported. It’s going to be a one-stop shop for everything baby-related, and I couldn’t be more excited!
