Latitude Fifty Five: Sharing Creative, Conscious, Ethical Businesses and Their Big Ideas

I began developing this idea for a conscious marketing agency. To support other inspired individuals who were designing businesses for consumers who are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of what they buy.

The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Like any new business we have started off small, meaning we need to be resourceful with what we have. Also being selective of the people we choose to work and partner with. Everyone has had that experience with an associate that they would never want to repeat. Whether it blows up horribly or was simply not the right fit.

I am constantly seeking people who align with our big dreams as a company, and who are willing shout it from the rooftops. Getting the word out there is always a challenge. But by sticking to our core values and drive we know that we have a point of difference that will allow us to stand out.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The ability to be freely creative is a huge pro for me. Feeling limitless in what you can build and mapping the course your business will take. Bringing ideas to life, doing something you love, feeling fulfilled by the creative outlet, and using a skill set that is a strength are all amazing perks to being your own boss.

Cons are always going to come down to work never being finished. Always having another idea, usually at 3 am in the morning when it’s least convenient. And the responsibility of giving your all for your team and clients. This one is both a pro and a con. It is a blessing and a curse to value the people you work with so highly.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

To grow into the next phase I would love to expand our remote team. I am looking to prove that it should be about the right fit when it comes to working with people. It doesn’t matter where they work from.

And always continuing to work with new clients who are looking to bring their dream businesses to life. Offering support to remote workers who want to be at home with their families and also maintain a stable and rewarding career without having to sacrifice one for the other.
