Life Behind the Lens: We Talk to Kindred Photographer Brandi Johnson

What challenges have you overcome?
When I first became a photographer I thought in order to be successful I was supposed to follow industry standard and trends but as I grow into my own artist I have realized that following my heart and continuing to do what I am passionate about makes me the happiest.

What next?
Currently I am studying Mexican Traditional Medicine focusing on womb wellness, and learning sobadas de matriz (or womb massage) under an indigenous woman who is my mentor, Mayte.

This summer my family and I will move into our skoolie (school bus tiny home) that is parked on our property. This will be where I will grow my business as a healer, serving my community of WOMBen with the medicine I have grown.

Photography will always be a part of my life as creating is essential and serves my spirit. I hope to continue to grow as an artist and make meaningful connections along the way.
