Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
This is definitely tough, especially when I study full-time, work in photography and design and provide as much time as I can for our two girls. I tend to micromanage the heck out of my weekdays so that I can be fully present in the evenings and weekends for my precious family.
The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?
So many! Having to learn a new skill from absolutely scratch, juggling my time, having to nearly sacrifice any kind of social life for a few years until I finish my degree! Also knowing that I’m one of many photographers in Nelson and that they are all absolutely amazing!
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Pros – freedom to do what I really want to do, and create something that I am super proud of. Being able to work it around my family.
Cons – I can’t really think of any! I feel so blessed to be on this journey.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I would love to have the opportunity to work on some really creative images, maybe with a bit of photo manipulation. I’m hoping to get my own studio set up for this. I would really love to travel too, within NZ but also worldwide.
